Hello! And welcome to The Purposefully Planned Momma. I’m so glad you’re here! It’s Day 1! So let me tell you a little about me. I’m a busy mom of 2 beautiful and busy girls – 15 & 11 years old – who works full-time outside the home. I’m a wife to an awesome husband, a leader of women’s ministry at my local church, a friend, sister, daughter, and much more. Let me be the first to admit: life can feel like a whirlwind sometimes…ok, most of the time! From managing work deadlines to shuttling kids to all the activities, staying healthy, trying (unsuccessfully, most days) to keep our home in some kind of order, the struggle is real! Oh, and don’t forget the mom and wife guilt to top it all off when I don’t meet my own expectations! So, if you’re here looking for another perfectly polished mom blog, you need to know, you’re in the wrong spot. I’m a mess – a hot mess most days. But in 2025, I’m a mom on mission! I want to THRIVE! not just survive!
There are countless other mom blogs out there, but I have found very few that seem to speak to those of us who also punch a clock outside our home, while still managing everything that comes with being a mom. Now, let me say, I understand those moms work very hard also – and just because they’re not reporting in at 7:30 am after dropping the kids off doesn’t mean they’re not busy, or working, but I believe it is different. When we work outside the home, I think we face unique challenges – time management is a matter of survival! And somewhere between packing lunches, folding laundry, and driving to work, we find ourselves dreaming of a little more balance. At least I do! And if you are too – then follow along this year with me!
I know some mornings I get up with a to-do list so long in my brain it feels like a cruel joke and I know I’ll never remember it all – let alone get it all done! So, this year, I’m trying something new! Meet the Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner! This year I took a solid look at every planner on the market – Happy Planners, and Erin Condren and countless others and decided to purchase the PPP Planner for myself, when I purchased it for my mom, as I do every year.
Planner
A few things to know upfront – this is not the first PPP Planner I’ve purchased for myself – but with a little commitment, and this blog, I hope it’s the first one I fully utilize! Second, I am NOT sponsored in any way by The Passionate Penny Pincher. I’m just a mom, looking for the best way to do and keep track all the things I need to do – and for 2025, it’s the one I’m trying! I like so many of the features in the planner and I’ll talk about them as I go through!
Each week check back with me to see how the previous week went, what worked, what didn’t and what I want to try to implement in the coming weeks.
Faith & Bible Study
Life is busy, but staying connected to Jesus is literally my lifeline. This year, I have also become a leader in my women’s ministry at my church, and starting in a few weeks, we will be learning to study the Bible for ourselves. So, with that said, somedays I may use this reading, others, I may not. Depends on what we’re studying. I’ll do my best to share some daily Bible reading reflections, encouragement, and ways to weave your faith into an already packed schedule!
Health & Wellness
In 2024, my health and wellness became a priority when I had gastric bypass surgery in April. Exercise and wellness is no longer about fitting into that outfit I’ve shoved in the back of my closet since before I had kids, it’s about feeling my very best! As someone navigating the bariatric life, I’ll talk about meal planning, tips for staying active and encouragement to keep going when it’s tough.
Home
Look, I’ve told you I’m a hot mess – and not really a very great housekeeper. Not because I don’t want to be – but because I’m always running, or maybe just don’t really know what to do when I can! So follow along with me as I try to get rid of the clutter, and keep my home in some semblance of order. I have a few home projects planned this year as well, so follow with me to see how it all turns out!
So, if you’re a busy mom who is ready to laugh, maybe cry, and definitely find hope in the middle of hot mess moments in life, you’re in the right place. Together, we’ll figure this out – one plan, one prayer, one step at a time!
Thank you for being here. Here’s to living purposefully planned – even on the messiest days when plans fall through!
With love and a cup of coffee in hand,
Purposefully Planned Momma
